Tassie Divers Photo Competition
|
|
Many members of Tassie Divers take underwater photos. Continuing advances in digital technology have resulted in low cost cameras which boast features once found only on very expensive models or in many cases didn't exist at all. With many digital cameras having companion underwater housings, recreational divers can now take an affordable photographic or video record of the wonders they see on their dives. Along with the advances in camera technology. Photos can be edited and manipulated at home on a PC using inexpensive software allowing unparalled creative control. The underwater environment however, has to be one of the most challenging to take good photos and all the technology available today won't make up for a good shot to start off with, whether its planned to be that way or just plain lucky. Every summer, Tassie Divers hosts a statewide digital photo competition with the winners posted on this site and modest prizes donated by local dive operators. Categories are generally best macro, wide angle and best diver shot. Winners are selected by popular vote by the Tassie Divers Membership.
